Deja Vu: Another Twin Departs 'BB5' The Olympics are over, the political conventions are through, NBC has begun the fall television season and yet "Big Brother" shows no sign of departing. It's like hockey in June. Even though only one player has actually been added to the game, it feels like things have been stretched to the breaking point. Fortunately, as Thursday night's (Sept. 3) episode begins, we know something the players don't know: By the time Labor Day rolls around, two of them will be gone. That's called Project Dramatic Irony, sports fans.Julie Chen has things on her mind beyond mere literary devices as she opens the show. After last week's Geisha Girl fashion debacle, Julie seems ready to atone, donning a dignified black top and white slacks. Is Julie repentant enough to cover her shoulders? Heavens no.You'd think that Adria would be excited to be reunited with her departed twin sister, but it turns out that she's not so keen on the prospect of watching $500,000 go down the drain. She's so busy politicking and complaining that the other guests have dubbed her "The Plague" because, as Diane explains, you can't get away from her. So far as we can tell, she's mostly latched on to Karen, pleading her case, moaning and groaning. She thinks he's making impassioned speeches to Karen, but the Wishy-Washy One isn't a receptive audience. As easy as it was to hate some of the evicted house guests, much of the personality has departed with the Jases and the Scotts and the Wills. We're left with Dopey Drew, Bashful Karen, Grumpy Adria, Sleepy Nakomis, obliviously Happy Cowboy and just for fun, I'm going to call Marvin Doc. Diane isn't really Sneezy, but "Skanky" wasn't a dwarf and with that perma-tan, calling her "Snow White" would be woefully inappropriate. Points, by the way, for whichever editor decided to cut in the footage of Diane digging deep for a wedgie. Anything to help us respect her more.Karen and Drew are having doubts as to whether voting Adria out will actually help their cause. Lest he think on his own for too long, Drew has Diane to lead him along by the, ahem, nose.Marvin, the Alliance Breaker, is determined to split up the house's supercouple. Taking one for the team, he decides to start hitting on Diane. His moves consist of a big, unexplained hug and a loud, sloppy kiss. He makes sure he plants the big one on Diane directly in view of Cowboy and the little snitch goes sprinting off to tell Drew. If he stays in this game much longer, there's a shiv in his future. The wounded Pretty Boy calls Diane on her indiscretion. First she claims that maybe she and Marvin kissed at the beginning of the show. Then she tries to suggest that a couple weeks ago, Marvin may have kissed her. Showing the emotional maturity of a junior high student, Drew breaks up with her on the spot. Diane gets all teary-eyed before Drew admits (or pretends) that he's just kidding. It's hard to be such a tool that Diane looks like the wounded party, but well done, Drew. Talking all buddy-buddy with Cowboy, Diane determines that Marvin has to go next.Marvin tells Julie that he thinks he still has a semi-alliance with Diane, but admits that he only trusts her as far as he can throw her. Oye. Are we back to that again? In the Jury House, we see Will basking in his final moments of Twin-free Paradise. Naturally on the day of Natalie's arrival, there's a thunderstorm. Will figures that's symbolic. When Natalie shows up at the house, she gives him a big hug. He hugs her and crosses his fingers. His grudge is neither mature nor endearing as he pretends to be happy to Natalie's face and admits to the camera that he wishes the champagne cork hit her in the eye. He says he's being the bigger man, but clearly he isn't. Natalie comes bearing a tape of the previous week's show. The fulfillment of his revenge fantasy makes Will so happy that he starts nattering about karma and boomerangs again. It's vote-swaying time in the house. Cowboy was on the block last week, so he says the same thing again. Adria asks people to honor their commitments to her, whatever that means. Then she rambles on for a while. Adria's speech has no impact. First Nakomis votes to evict Adria. Then Drew does the same, though he looks a little guilty. Karen also seems sad as she seals Adria's fate. Diane's superfluous vote goes for Adria. The latest evictee makes her departure with a big fake smile. She launches into a long speech at the door. Marvin is quiet for a bit, but finally Adria goes too far, threatening that there are now two angry twins on the jury. Marvin tells her to get over herself. Even after she exits, Marvin keeps ranting. Julie's happy, because spontaneous rage makes for good television. She gets Adria to confess that she's rooting for Cowboy, Drew and Karen now. Julie rubs salt in Adria's new wounds by noting that after the arduous process of tricking everybody for over a month, the twins were evicted in consecutive weeks. Adria agrees that since they came into the world one after another, it's appropriate that they left one after another. In their taped messages, both Karen and Drew mutter apologies and rationalize that Adria shouldn't have been voted out this week. Wait, Karen and Drew, out of the four available votes, didn't you two make up 50 percent? It's pretty spineless to act like you didn't have a choice. The Head of Household competition is called Chemical Reaction and tests the shut-ins on their memories of past challenges. It comes down to Karen and Drew, with the Pretty Boy winning. If his last time in the HoH room is any indication, there's a lot of crying in Drew's future. When Julie talks to the new HoH, he hasn't started to sniffle yet. He's happy right up to the point that Julie reveals to the guests that the next eviction will occur in 48 hours. Drew looks determined, but the dude doesn't do well with pressure. Tune in on Saturday to see if Drew ends up curled in a fetal position asking for his mother. Julie Chen will be there and don't you want to see what she wears to hit the town on Saturday night?
